In cooperation with the Iraqi Libraries and Information Association and Under the generous sponsorship of the Deanship of Al-Mansour University College, Women's Empowerment Unit organized a central celebration on International Women's Day reviewed that the ceremony witnessed delivering speech by the Dean of the College, in which he welcomed the attendees and congratulated women on their International Women's Day, as well as praising their active role in building families and society and emphasizing the importance of women's vital role in various fields of life.
Al-Mansour University College added that Dr. Abdul Sattar Salman expressed his pride in Iraqi women, as well as congratulating the female faculty members and staff at the college and all Iraqi women on this occasion, which serves as a platform for recognizing their efforts and achievements.
Al-Mansour highlighted that the ceremony also witnessed delivering a speech by a member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Ms. Madiha Al-Moussawi, as well as emphasizing Iraq's leadership in launching national strategies aimed at empowering women.
Al-Mansour University College also reviewed that Ms. Madiha Al-Moussawi said that the National Strategy for Iraqi Women (2023-2030) represents a clear reflection of the Iraqi State's commitment in advancing women's status and strengthening their role in society.
For his part, Dr. Hassan Ridha Al-Najjar delivered a speech on the historical dimensions of this day, as well as reviewing that its celebration dates to a global feminist movement that began in 1908 with the participation of more than 15,000 women in New York City.
Dr. Al-Najjar emphasized that Iraqi women have been and continue to be essential partners in the nation-building process through their diverse roles as mothers, wives, educators and active citizens.
For her part, the faculty member, Dr. Maysoun Al-Amiri delivered a speech on the role of Iraqi women in the fields of science, politics and community service, highlighting their clear impact in various areas of life.
Al-Mansour continued by saying that the ceremony concluded that all outstanding female faculty members and staff were honored in recognition of their valuable contributions to the college's academic and administrative progress.
It is worth to be mentioned that the event was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Sabah Muhammad Kalo, Head of the Iraqi Libraries and Information Association, Dr. Abdul Sattar Shaker Salman and the Administrative Assistant, Dr. Hassan Ridha Al-Najjar, as well as several Heads of academic departments and many female faculty members and administrative staff.
