Under the patronage of the Dean of Al-Mansour University College, Prof. Dr. Sabah Mohammed Kalo, the Department of Law organized a scientific workshop entitled "The Risks of Corruption & Ways to Confront It".
The workshop demonstrated nine diverse scientific articles on legal, legislative and administrative aspects, as well as reviewing of international treaties and agreements related to combating corruption.
The workshop highlighted the importance of adopting the principle of good governance and implementing administrative automation with the aim at instilling the values of integrity and transparency, ensuring the involvement of individuals and society in decision-making and achieving a balance among the attainment of rights and the fulfillment of duties, successful international experiences, such as the experience of Singapore and Morocco in combating corruption.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Sabah Kalo honored the lecturers and participants with certificates of appreciation for their research efforts and valuable scientific contributions.
For their part, the participants reviewed the role of legislative, executive and judicial authorities in combating this phenomenon, highlighting the role of oversight bodies, including the Federal Integrity Commission and the Board of Supreme Audit, as well as the importance of activating internal oversight in public and private institutions and reviewing a series of important recommendations that would contribute in supporting national efforts to combat corruption.
It is worth to be mentioned that the workshop was attended by a number of judges, faculty members and experts from active oversight institutions in the field of integrity and anti-corruption.
