Al-Mansour University Calls for Adopting Solar Energy As National Project to Protect Environment & Promote Energy Independence

Professor Abdul Sattar Shaker Salman, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs at Al-Mansour University College, emphasized the importance of mainstreaming the use of solar energy within higher education institutions and governmental and private institutions in Iraq. He emphasized that this step is no longer merely a technical option, but rather a national and strategic necessity in light of the current environmental and economic challenges.
Discussing the solar energy system adopted by the college in 2022, Dr. Abdul Sattar highlighted that the system operates efficiently and continuously without interruption, feeding a number of sensitive laboratories and servers that require stable energy, enhancing the college's academic and research performance.
The Scientific Assistant reviewed that Iraq possesses an ideal environment for utilizing solar energy, given the abundance of solar radiation throughout the year, as well as the economic feasibility of these systems, coupled with their environmental friendliness, makes them an ideal choice at both the institutional and societal levels.
Concluding his statement, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar called for the development of a comprehensive national strategy to support Iraqi citizens in adopting alternative energy systems through banking facilities, government support, and the provision of high-quality systems with modern technologies to ensure energy sustainability and reduce reliance on traditional grid, he emphasized that Al Mansour College will continue its role in spreading this awareness and contributing effectively to the responsible transition to alternative energy.
