Under the auspices of the Deanship of Al-Mansour University College, the Department of Digital Media at Al-Mansour College organized a dialogue symposium entitled (The Cultural Landscape in Light of the Digital Environment) presented by Professor Ali Hassan Al-Fawaz, President of the General Union of Writers and Authors in Iraq, on Sunday, the twenty-fifth of this month.
The lecturer spoke about the changes in the cultural scene in light of technical developments in communication, the Internet, and electronic publishing. He explained that the status of the creative intellectual remains high in society despite the flood of social networking sites and the non-creative content they publish in most cases.
Professor Dr. Sabah Muhammad Kallow, Dean of Al-Mansour College, spoke at the symposium, explaining the importance of holding this symposium and the role of the intellectual in leading the rapid technological transformations and using them to disseminate helpful information to society.
Dr. Mohamed Falhi, Head of the Digital Media Department, moderated the symposium. It was attended by some department heads, teachers, and students who participated in the dialogue on the symposium topic and asked questions to clarify its various aspects.
After the symposium, the Dean of the College distributed certificates of appreciation to the participants.
