The Vision, Mission and Objectives of the Computer Science and Information Systems Department



Vision
The vision of the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems is to follow up on the rapid developments in the field of computers and their applications and to graduate qualified and efficient cadres in the field of computer science and information systems in a manner consistent with the requirements of work in all scientific and educational aspects to meet the need of society and state departments and institutions for specialists in this field. The department seeks to graduate students with precise computer science specializations in its two branches (computer science and information systems) in a way compatible with work requirements in all scientific and educational aspects and at both levels of undergraduate and graduate studies.

As an example of the practical applications of precise specializations, below is a group of students from the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems after obtaining the Cisco certificate for the first level (CCNA1) and enrolling in the second level course (CCNA2) and also obtaining the (IT) certificate.

Objectives
1. Graduating students with the precise specializations of computer science in its subspecialized branches (computer science and information systems), in addition to preparing advanced and specialized cadres in computer science and information systems to meet the needs of society and state departments and institutions for specialists in this field.
2. Keeping pace with scientific and technical progress through developing quality educational plans and curricula that contribute to forming academic and research cadres capable of serving everyone.
3. Providing distinguished, quality educational programs that contribute to providing students with the foundations of knowledge and developing students’ abilities to think analytically to prepare pioneers of creative and talented youth in the fields of science and technology.
4. Qualifying students to provide them with the applied skills needed by the labor market by providing advanced scientific, research, and computer laboratories.
